Farthings Paddock, Alford, Nr Castle Cary, Somerset |
Farthings Paddock, Alford, Nr Castle Cary, Somerset was a
development of just 5, four and five bedroom homes built combining the
best of modern materials with traditional methods such as natural stone and brick elevations and slate and clay tile roofs.
Each home is quite different both in its design and the use of materials. For example The West House has a tiled roof with stone walls whilst plot 2 has been built in a cottage style with dormer windows and an attractive ornamental porch. Plots 4 and 5 are built on the site of an existing barn and have a light and airy spaciousness. Finally plot 3 has been designed using a mixture of brick and natural stone with a large expanse of glass on both the ground and first floor levels to allow an uninterrupted view of the Alford countryside. This development was completed in August 2004.
